SDC College, Kolar is the mother branch of SDC group of Institutions. It is established in the year 2008 with only two courses i.e. , B.Com and  BCA .The college started with only 100 students in both courses and today it stands with 2500 students . BBA and B.Sc were introduced in the branch and it also has wings at Mulbagal, Bangarpet, KGF. In the year 2017 two PG courses M.Com and M.Sc (Mathematics) were introduced.

The branch is located in the midst of green environment with experienced faculties and visionary management. This branch is having very good reputation in the Kolar District. The first batch of BCA Student had secured 8^th Rank from Bangalore University. B.com student secured First rank from Bangalore University. BBA student also secured First Rank from Bangalore University. BCA Students secured First Rank from Bangalore University. Our college has been phenomenal and is recognized as one of the reputed institutions not only in Kolar District but also among the other districts of Karnataka.  It is a self-financing, Co-Education college imparting quality education in the streams of Commerce, Science and Management, offering UG and PG Courses.  SDC, Kolar Branch wishes to cater the needs of rural students with a lofty aim of imparting education at affordable cost. All activities are given due importance along with the academics.

The main objective of the college is to train students to be competent citizens and to inculcate in them qualities required for effective leadership of organizations. Students are encouraged to analyze, anticipate and innovate by using all resources at hand to prepare themselves for challenging professional careers.
